If we look at one side, it is the time for Muslims' religious month of Ramadan while on the other side corona is there to sadden the whole situation.
A lot of people are wondering or praying to enjoy the blessings this Ramadan like they have enjoyed and prayed congregational prayers and reciting Holy Quran especially in last 10 days of Ramadan in mosques for the whole of their lives. Today I'll discuss some major differences between Ramadan before COVID-19 and Ramadan now;
Ramadan Before COVID-19:
- People used to offer 5 times prayers in mosques.
- There were thousands out their ready to provide sehri/iftar for millions on roads, mosques.
- There were joint iftaris and great family gatherings.
- There were outdoor games in by-lanes and grounds all night.
- Tarawih prayers were offered in presence of a huge mass of people.
Ramadan Now:
- No huge gatherings in mosques. Physical distance of 6 feet is suggested.
- No outdoor games at night as the law enforcers are strictly guided for there stoppage.
- Little iftar parties and family gatherings out there
- Pray at homes
- Limited amount of iftari/sehri distributed for downtrodden and beggars
- And the most considerable for Muslims nowadays, the Hajj has stopped
Allah says in Quran;
Ramadan is the month in which we sent down the Quran (02:185)So keep praying and remember me in your prayers.

What are your thoughts about offering congregational prayers in mosques in this time of COVID-19, should government allow them??
ReplyDeleteI think congregational prayers should not be allowed and if allowed for the blessed month of Ramadan, specific measures should be taken. We cannot risk more lives.
